Okay, so I finally decided to tackle those Walking Mausoleums in Elden Ring. You know, the giant, lumbering things with the bells? Yeah, those. I needed to duplicate some Remembrances, and these guys are the key. Let me tell you, figuring out how to bring them down wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be.
Finding the First One (Weeping Peninsula)
I started my hunt in the Weeping Peninsula, south of Limgrave. I’d heard there was one roaming around near the Fourth Church of Marika. I fast-traveled to the church, and sure enough, there it was, just stomping around in the distance. This one was pretty easy to spot because the area is relatively flat.

Getting it Down
My first instinct was to just attack its legs, but that didn’t do anything. Then I noticed these skull-like barnacles on its feet. I figured, “What the heck,” and started whacking at them. After clearing the barnacles off of all four feet, the whole thing just crashed down. Super satisfying!
- Locate the Mausoleum.
- Attack the skull barnacles on its feet.
- Clear all four feet.
- Watch it fall!
Liurnia of the Lakes (Mausoleum Compound)
Next, I headed to Liurnia of the Lakes. I found a couple of these guys chilling in the Mausoleum Compound, north of the “Mausoleum Compound” Site of Grace. The landscape here is a bit more uneven, but they were still pretty easy to find.
Same Deal, Different Barnacles
The process was the same as before: find the barnacles, whack them off. These ones had barnacles a bit higher up on the legs, so I had to jump-attack them a few times. I used Torrent, my trusty steed, to get around quickly and reach those higher spots.
Liurnia of the Lakes (Near Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel)
Okay, this one was a little trickier. I found it wandering around near the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel. There were a few of these near the “Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel” site of Grace, but the one up the hill was the one I needed!

Jumping Required!
This Mausoleum had its barnacles way up high, on the body of the thing, not the legs. I had to use the nearby Spiritspring to launch Torrent into the air and land on top of the Mausoleum. From there, it was just a matter of clearing the barnacles like before. It felt pretty epic, landing on that thing!
Consecrated Snowfield
I found one last one way up north in the Consecrated Snowfield. This area is tough to get to, requiring you to find both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. And, man, is it foggy! But, I’m nothing if not persistent. I found the Mausoleum wandering around west of the “Apostate Derelict” site of Grace, dealing with some tough enemies along the way, it was easy to see with the area.
Back to Basics
Thankfully, this one was back to the basics. Barnacles on the feet, just like the first one. I cleared them out, and down it went. It’s nice when things are a little more predictable!
So, that’s my journey to conquer the Walking Mausoleums. It was a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and a bit of acrobatics. Now I’ve got all the duplicated Remembrances I need! Hope this helps anyone else struggling with these giant, bell-ringing beasts.
