Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into AFK Arena lately, and let me tell you, figuring out which heroes to focus on can be a real headache. So, I started making my own “AFK Hero Choice List” to keep track of everything. It’s been a game-changer, seriously.
First, I grabbed a pen and paper. Yeah, I’m old school like that. I could’ve used a spreadsheet, but sometimes you just gotta go analog, you know?

Then I started listing out all the heroes I had. Just a simple list, nothing fancy. As I played, and unlocked more, i added them.
- Shemira
- Brutus
- Lucius
- …and so on
Next, I started playing… a lot. I mean, hours and hours. I tried out different team combinations, seeing which heroes worked well together and which ones just fell flat. I lost, a lot…but at least I was learning along the way!
After each battle, I jotted down notes. Like, “Shemira is a beast in the late game,” or “Brutus is great early on, but kinda falls off later.” Stuff like that. My paper began to be filled with a lot of scribbled notes.
As I got further into the game, I started researching online. I looked at tier lists, read guides, and watched videos. I didn’t just blindly copy what other people said, though. I compared their opinions to my own experiences.
Then came the tough part: making choices. Based on my notes and research, I started categorizing my heroes. You know, like “God Tier,” “Really Good,” “Situational,” and “Meh.” It took me a good chunk of time to get the organization just right.
My Current (Work-in-Progress) Categories
- Top Tier-Always try to use
- Mid Tier-Good to use
- Low Tier-Can be useful in some situation
I’ve revisited and revised my list several times. It’s a constant work in progress. As new heroes get released, or as I get better at the game, I shuffle things around. It felt good to change and adapt my list to make it better.

Finally, to organize it all, I transferred the data from my scribbled paper into a simple table, with heroes down one side, and categories like “Faction”, “Role”, and “My Rating” along the top. Every so often I update this table.
So, yeah, that’s how I built my AFK Hero Choice List. It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely biased towards my own play style, but it’s helped me a ton. It’s all about experimenting, taking notes, and not being afraid to change your mind. Good luck building yours!
