Okay, so I’ve been messing around with golf stuff lately, and I got really into this whole “longest driver on the LPGA” thing. It’s like, who can whack that ball the farthest, you know? It’s kind of a big deal in the golf world, like a strongman competition but with golf clubs.
First, I started digging around to see what the average driving distance was for these pro ladies. Turns out, they’re hitting it pretty far. I saw some data that said the average carry distance for LPGA players is around 223 yards, with a club-head speed of like 96 mph. That’s way better than me, I’ll tell you that much.
Then I got curious about who the big hitters are. Like, who’s the queen of the long drive? That’s where I found out about Brittany Lincicome. Apparently, she holds the record for the longest drive ever on the LPGA Tour. I went down a bit of a rabbit hole watching videos of her swing. It’s seriously impressive.
- Brittany Lincicome: She’s the record holder, so she’s gotta be on the list.
- Lexi Thompson: I kept seeing her name pop up. Everyone says she’s got a crazy long drive.
- Anne van Dam: Another name I saw. She apparently hit a massive 290.82-yard drive in 2021!
Some of the Longest Drivers
I spent a good chunk of time just watching these women swing. It’s mesmerizing, honestly. They’ve got this power and precision that I can only dream of. I tried to copy their form a bit, but let’s just say my results were… less than stellar.
So, yeah, that’s been my latest obsession. It’s been fun to learn about these amazing athletes and see what they can do. Maybe one day I’ll be able to hit the ball half as far as they can. A guy can dream, right?
