Okay, so I was surfing the web today, and this “Ben Roethlisberger UFC” thing popped up. I was like, “What? Big Ben in the UFC? No way!” I mean, the dude was a legend with the Steelers, but fighting? That’s a whole different ball game. I had to check this out.
First thing I did was scroll through some tweets. Lots of people were talking about seeing messages for channel 1 and 2 during some UFC fights. It was kinda random, but hey, it got me digging. I remembered Ben played for the Steelers until he was like, almost 40, right? That’s pretty old for football, let alone getting into a cage!

Then I went down memory lane, thinking about some of his big games. I watched a highlight of that crazy 92-yard drive he had against the Ravens back in ’08. The dude was clutch! It made me chuckle thinking about him trying to pull off a last-minute submission instead of a touchdown pass.
But then things got a bit serious. I stumbled upon some pretty heavy accusations about Ben, stuff about him and some college girls. Some tweets were saying some not-so-nice things about him. Man, that was a downer. It made me think about how athletes are in the spotlight all the time, and their actions, good or bad, are always scrutinized. I saw that the NFL even suspended him for a few games because of all that. Not cool.
I also read about how some folks online were comparing him to other quarterbacks, saying how tough it is to play against teams like the Ravens twice a year. People were saying even the Bengals had a really good defense for a bit. It just showed how tough the NFL is, and how much respect Ben earned over the years, despite all the controversies.
I found out that since retiring, Ben’s been doing a podcast. That’s pretty cool, I guess he still wants to talk football. I bet Steelers fans love it. It says he’s worth like $100 million! That’s a lot of dough. Good for him, I suppose, after all those years of getting hit on the field.
And get this – apparently, he’s gonna be eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027. Time flies, huh? He’s one of those few quarterbacks who’s beaten every team in the league except his own. That’s something, I guess.
So, yeah, that was my little internet adventure today. Started with a “what if” about Ben Roethlisberger in the UFC and ended up being a reminder of his whole career – the good, the bad, and the complicated. It just shows you how one random search can lead you down all sorts of paths.
