That Jacob Bridgeman, I tell ya, he sure can hit that little white ball. He one of them Clemson boys, plays that golf. My grandson, he follows all them golfers. Says this Jacob, he’s a good one. Says he’s only, what, 24 years old? That ain’t nothin’! But he’s already out there, makin’ a name for himself, I hear. They start young these days, don’t they?
They got some fancy way of keepin’ track of how good these boys are. Somethin’ called an average. This Jacob fella, his average is real low, like 70 somethin’. They call it a 70.73, like it makes some difference. Sounds like he hits that ball real good most of the time. Ain’t no 100s on his scorecard, I bet. I heard he was second to some fella named Doc Redman. Sounds like a made-up name to me. That Doc fella, he was only a little bit better. 70.70. What’s the difference, I ask ya? Not much if you ask me.
And get this, this Jacob Bridgeman, he won somethin’ five times! Five times! My grandson says that’s a big deal at Clemson. Says it’s the most anyone’s ever won there. Must be some kinda record, huh? Clemson’s that college, right? They got that tiger for a mascot. My old neighbor, she had a tiger, but only a cat, not the real big one. Anyway, back to Jacob, he’s not playin’ for Clemson anymore, he’s a professional now.
He’s playin’ with the big boys now, on that PGA Tour. Don’t know much about it, except they play for money. Lots of money. Hope that boy saves some of it. Never know when you gonna need it. He used to play for Clemson. Won some big thing there, they call it the Atlantic Coast somethin’ or other. Sounds important, anyways.
- He won five times.
- He has a good average.
- He played for Clemson.
- He’s a professional now.
- He is on PGA Tour.
My grandson showed me somethin’ on his phone. Said it was this Jacob Bridgeman‘s profile. Had all sorts of numbers on it. Made my head spin. All I know is, the boy can play golf. He’s from the United States, they say. Well, ain’t we all? He is a golf player from United States, that is for sure. I don’t know where exactly, but somewhere around here, I reckon.
They say he was a star at that Clemson place. Won somethin’ called an “Atlantic Coast Conference title.” Don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy. And he was second in some other thing, somethin’ about the PGA Tour University. My grandson, he tried to explain it to me, but it went right over my head. All I know is, this Jacob Bridgeman fella is doin’ alright for himself. He is a star, people say that, so it must be true.
I seen his picture, too. He looks like a nice young man. Got a good smile. Hope he stays outta trouble. This world’s got enough trouble in it already. It is good to see the young people do good. He seems like a good kid.
I don’t know what else to say about this Jacob Bridgeman. Just that he can swing a golf club real good. Maybe he’ll be famous one day, like that Tiger Woods fella. My grandson would like that. He likes watchin’ those golf tournaments on the television. Me, I prefer my stories, but to each their own, I always say. To each their own. This Jacob seems like he is doing his own thing, and he is doing it well, and that is all that matters.
So, this boy, Jacob Bridgeman from Clemson, keep an eye on him. Sounds like he got a bright future ahead of him. He sure got a good head start, that’s for darn sure. Hope he keeps it up. Maybe I’ll even watch him on the television sometime. If my grandson puts it on, that is. He’s the one who knows how to work that thing anyways. And it is good to have something to talk about with him. He likes to talk about golf and this Jacob fella. He is some big shot golfer, that Jacob Bridgeman.
