Alright, let’s talk about this Scottie Scheffler fella, the one they say is the best golfer in the world. Golfer, you know, the guys who hit that little white ball with a stick. I don’t know much about golf, but I hear this boy, Scottie, he’s somethin’ special.
They say he won a whole bunch of times last year, like seven or nine times, I can’t rightly remember. That’s a lot, even for someone who knows what they’re doin’, which I reckon he does. He’s number one, they say. Number one in the whole wide world of golfin’. Imagine that!
- He plays in somethin’ called the Ryder Cup. Sounds fancy. I think it’s like a team thing, you know, like when the kids play baseball in the summer. Only these guys are grown-ups and they hit a little ball instead of a big one.
- And this Ryder Cup, it seems like he and his team, they didn’t do so good last year. Lost, they did. But they’re hopin’ to do better this time around. Well, I hope they do too. Nothin’ worse than losin’, I tell ya.
Now, this Scottie, he’s got a caddie, a fella named Ted Scott. That’s the guy who carries his sticks, the golf sticks, I mean. And let me tell you, this Ted, he makes a good livin’ just carryin’ them sticks! They say he made millions last year, just luggin’ those clubs around. Millions! Can you believe it? I worked my whole life and never saw that kinda money.
And this Scottie, he changed his caddie a few years back. Now he’s got this Ted fella. And ever since then, he’s been winnin’ all the time. Maybe it’s the caddie, maybe it’s not. Who knows? But this Ted, he seems like a good luck charm, that’s for sure.
They say Scottie made a pile of money too. Like, almost thirty million dollars! And that’s not even countin’ all the extra money he got for winnin’ other things. I can’t even imagine havin’ that much money. Why, you could buy the whole town with that kinda cash!
And this golfin’ business, it’s serious stuff. They got these big tournaments, like the Masters and somethin’ called the PLAYERS Championship. And Scottie, he won those too. Twice! He’s a real winner, that boy. He must practice a lot. You don’t get to be the best by sittin’ around and eatin’ pie, that’s for sure.
Sometimes Ted has to go do things for his family. Seems like he went to his daughter’s graduation, missed a round of golf, but still made a lot of money. He makes like 68 thousand dollars just walking around the golf course with Scottie for one round of golf. That’s more money than most folks see in a year, maybe even ten years!
Now I hear tell they got some other big golfers too, names like Rory somethin’ or other, and this Bryson DeChambeau fella. I don’t know ’em, but they say they’re good. But Scottie, he’s the best, that’s what they keep sayin’. And I reckon if everyone’s sayin’ it, it must be true.
So, that’s the story of Scottie Scheffler, as best as I can tell it. A young fella who’s real good at hittin’ that little white ball and makin’ a whole lotta money doin’ it. And he’s got a caddie who makes a whole lotta money just carryin’ his sticks. It’s a funny old world, ain’t it?
Just goes to show you, hard work and maybe a little bit of luck, can take you a long way. Even if all you’re doin’ is hittin’ a little ball around a field. Good for him, I say. Good for him.
