Alright, let’s talk about this fella, The Rock, and his tattoos. You know, that big, strong fella from the TV? Yeah, him. He’s got all them muscles and, wouldn’t ya know it, some pictures on his skin too.
First off, he had this bull thing, right on his arm. Big ol’ bull, they called it the “Brahma Bull.” Guess it was somethin’ from when he was wrestlin’, you know, pretend fightin’ and all that. Sounds like he spent a whole heap of time gettin’ that thing done. They say it took ’em 60 hours! Can you imagine? That’s like, more than two whole days! Three times sittin’ there for 20 hours at a stretch… Lord have mercy, my old bones woulda been achin’ somethin’ fierce.
- Took 60 hours to finish.
- Three sessions, 20 hours each time.
- It was huge, covered a big part of his arm.
Now, why’d he go and get rid of it, you ask? Well, from what I hear, it was just too darn big. Covered up too much of him, and maybe wasn’t so good for him neither. Plus, folks change, don’t they? Maybe that bull didn’t feel right no more. He wanted somethin’ different, somethin’ to show how he’s grown, like a snake sheddin’ its skin or a tree growin’ new branches.
So, he got it covered up with somethin’ new. A bigger one, even! This new one, it’s like a whole story on his body. I ain’t got no tattoos myself. Needles ain’t my cup of tea. But this new one, it’s got all sorts of swirls and stuff. They say it tells about his family and his journey, you know, where he came from and all the things he’s done. It’s like a map, but on his skin instead of paper. Guess it took a long time too, but I ain’t heard exactly how long. Musta been a whole lot of pokin’ and proddin’, that’s for sure.
I seen some pictures online. You know, my grandson showed me. He’s always fiddlin’ with that phone of his. This new tattoo, it’s pretty fancy, I gotta say. Lots of details and… well, it’s somethin’ else. Not like the old bull at all. It’s like he traded in an old pickup truck for a fancy new Cadillac, if you know what I mean.
Speaking of tattoos, seems like everybody’s gettin’ ’em these days. My grandson was showin’ me this other fella, Colby Brock, somethin’ like that. He’s got tattoos too. Young folks and their tattoos! Back in my day, nobody had nothin’ like that. But times change, I guess. This Colby fella, he’s got a bunch of ’em, each one with its own story, just like The Rock. Seems like folks like to tell their stories on their skin nowadays. There’s even tattoo shops all over, even in places like Rock Island, wherever that is.
And then there’s this fella, Jeff Brock, makes tattoos for a livin’. Out in Buffalo, New York, they say. He’s got a whole shop, calls it Brock Tattoos. Imagine that! Makin’ a livin’ just by drawin’ on folks’ skin. My, how the world has changed. Back in my day, you drew on paper, or maybe on the barn wall if you were feelin’ frisky. But on people? Never woulda thought of it.
So, yeah, that’s the story of The Rock’s tattoos, as best as I can tell ya. He had a bull, now he’s got somethin’ bigger and fancier. And there are all sorts of other folks out there gettin’ tattoos too. It’s a whole new world, I tell ya. A whole new world.
And honestly, I still don’t get why anyone would want to sit there and get poked with needles for hours on end, but to each their own, I suppose. Maybe it’s like plantin’ a garden, you gotta put in the work to get somethin’ beautiful in the end.
