Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Bernard fella from, uh, BG3, whatever that is. Sounds like some kinda fancy city name to me. Anyways, people are askin’ questions, so I’m gonna tell ya what I know, the way I know it. Don’t expect no fancy words or nothin’.
So, this Bernard, he’s made of metal, see? That means he’s tough, real tough. Like tryin’ to chop down an oak tree with a butter knife. Folks say he’s got a high AC, which I reckon means he’s hard to hit. You go swingin’ your sword at him, it’ll probably just bounce right off. Waste of good energy, if you ask me.
Now, if you gotta fight him, and it sounds like some folks do, you gotta be smart about it. Don’t go wailin’ on him like a crazy chicken. You gotta use them… whatchamacallits… “savin’ throw attacks” they call ’em. Sounds like magic to me, and I ain’t got no truck with magic, but if it gets the job done, it gets the job done.
- First thing, don’t bunch up like a bunch of scared sheep. Spread out! That way, if he swings, he ain’t gonna hit ya all at once.
- Then, try to push him off somethin’ high. Like a tower, or a cliff, or maybe even a big ol’ pile of hay if you can find one. Fallin’ hurts, even if you’re made of metal. If that don’t kill him, it’ll sure weaken him up good.
Now, here’s somethin’ tricky. Seems like some folks get stuck fightin’ all the time, can’t even take a breather. They say you gotta “respec” into a “Bard.” Sounds like changin’ jobs to me. Like goin’ from milkin’ cows to, I dunno, fixin’ fences. And this Bard fella, at level two, they get somethin’ that works like a short rest. Means you can catch your breath and get your strength back, even in the middle of a fight. Handy, I tell ya.
And if that ain’t workin’, if you’re still stuck fightin’ all the time, they say you gotta “reset the user interface.” Now, that sounds like somethin’ for them city folk with their fancy contraptions. I reckon it means you gotta jiggle the wires or somethin’, make it work again. Like kickin’ the tractor when it won’t start. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don’t.
So, to sum it up, fightin’ Bernard is like fightin’ a stubborn mule. He’s tough, but he ain’t invincible. Use your head, use the tricks they told ya, and you’ll be alright. And if you get stuck, well, try that Bard thing, or jiggle the wires. And if that don’t work, well, maybe you should just run. Ain’t no shame in runnin’ away to fight another day, that’s what I always say.
I heard tell some folks have trouble after destroyin’ Bernard. Sounds like they messed up somehow. Well, if that happens you gotta go see this fella called Withers. He sounds like a spooky fella, always hanging around them gravestones. You send one of your buddies over to him and have them change their job into that Bard thing, like I said before. Level 2 is the magic number, remember that. Once they do that job changing thing, they get a special trick that lets you rest even when you’re in a fight. Then you just do what I said before and you should be good to go.
I ain’t never seen a metal man myself but I’ve seen my share of stubborn critters. And I tell you what, patience and a little bit of know-how can get you through just about anythin’. So, you go on now, and you show that Bernard fella who’s boss. And if you get stuck, just remember what I told ya.
