Alright, let’s gab about this Genshin Project Baby game. My grandkids, they’re always yappin’ about it. Seems like a big deal, this “Genshin Impact” thing. Don’t rightly know what it is, but they say it’s a game. You know, like those things on them phones and computers.
From what I gather, it’s this big, open world. Like, you can just wander around, doin’ whatever. Reminds me of when I was young, runnin’ around the fields, except, you know, with more sparkly lights and magic stuff. These young folks, they say you got all these characters, and you go around fightin’ monsters and whatnot. Sounds tiring to me. I’d rather just sit and watch TV.
- They say it’s made by some company, “HoYoverse” or somethin’. Sounds fancy.
- And it’s on computers and them phones too. Them little pocket computers. Crazy how much they can do these days.
This “Genshin Impact” game, it’s got people all over the world playin’ it. My grandkids, they’re always talkin’ to their friends online, sharin’ secrets and strategies. They call it a “fandom,” like a big family, but, you know, online. It’s a whole different world these kids live in.
Now, they say there’s these puzzles and enemies. Like, you gotta figure stuff out and beat up baddies. Sounds like a lot of work, if you ask me. But they love it. They’re always yellin’ about “leveling up” and getting new characters. They got one character called “Layla” something, a cryo girl. What’s a cryo girl? A cold girl? In my days, if a girl is cold, it means she is not into you and you should leave her alone. These days, it’s different.
And the world! They call it “Teyvat.” Sounds made-up to me. But they say it’s beautiful, with all sorts of places to explore. Ancient ruins, they call ’em. I reckon that’s like old buildings and stuff. Like the old town hall, before they tore it down to build that new supermarket.
My grandkids, they told me about some wolf thing, a “Golden Wolflord” or somethin’. Said they had to fight it with a little helper, a “Little One.” I don’t know. Sounds like a fairy tale to me. But they get all excited about it, so I guess it’s somethin’ special. They keep talking about it and it goes right through my left ear and out of my right one. Too much information for me.
Why do they like it so much? That’s what I keep askin’ myself. They say it’s the story, the characters, the world. They say it’s like being in another place, doin’ things you could never do in real life. Guess that’s the appeal. Escapism, they call it. Reminds me of when I used to read those romance novels. Same thing, different way of doin’ it.
It seems like everyone is playin’ this “Genshin Impact.” Young, old, it don’t matter. My grandkids say it’s because it’s fun, you know, somethin’ to do to pass the time. And it’s free, mostly. That’s a big deal, they tell me. Kids these days, always lookin’ for a bargain. I can’t blame them, though. Life is tough and getting by is not easy.
So, yeah, this Genshin Project Baby, it’s a big thing. I don’t understand it all, but if it makes my grandkids happy, then I guess it’s alright. They’re good kids, even if they spend too much time starin’ at them screens. At least they ain’t out causin’ trouble. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even give it a try. Probably not, though. Too much for this old lady to figure out. I’d rather watch the soap opera.
Anyway, that’s my take on it. A whole bunch of hullabaloo about a game. But hey, times change, and folks find their fun where they can. As long as they’re not hurtin’ anyone, I say let ‘em have at it.
