Alright, let’s talk about this here baseball game, the one with the Baltimore Orioles and the Houston Astros. I don’t know all them fancy stats, but I can tell ya who done good and who didn’t.
So, first off, we got this fella Ronel Blanco. He pitched for the Astros, and he did real good. Pitched for seven whole innings, strong as an ox, they say. Kept them Orioles boys from hittin’ too much. That’s important, you know, keepin’ the other team from scorin’. If they don’t score, you gonna win, that’s just common sense.
Then there’s this Chas McCormick. He plays for the Astros too. This boy, he hit two home runs! Two! Can you believe it? That’s like hittin’ two birds with one stone, only it’s with a bat and a ball. Each time he hit that ball, it went zoop right outta there. Folks were cheerin’ like crazy. He helped the Astros win 5-1, they say.
- Astros win: 5
- Orioles lose: 1
Now, about them Orioles. They didn’t do so hot this time. Only got one run the whole game. I don’t know who’s fault that is, maybe they were just havin’ a bad day. Sometimes that happens, you know? One day you’re hittin’ like a champ, the next day you can’t hit nothin’. Baseball’s a funny game like that.
They also mentioned some other fellas, like Alvarez, he hit a home run too, but not two like that McCormick fella. And then there’s Framber Valdez, another pitcher for the Astros. He pitched good too, seven innings, just like Blanco. Seems like them Astros got some good pitchers, that’s for sure. And these fellas, Jeremy Pena and Yainer Diaz, they got three RBIs apiece. That means they helped their teammates score runs. That’s important, you gotta work together in baseball, it ain’t a one-man show.
I heard tell that the Orioles and the Astros, they played a bunch of games before. The Orioles, they ain’t won as many as the Astros. Sounds like the Astros got their number, but that don’t mean nothin’ for the next game. Every game’s a new game, that’s what I always say. You gotta go out there and fight for it every time.
They was talkin’ ’bout some old-timers too, like Jeff Bagwell and Lance Berkman for the Astros. These boys hit a lotta home runs back in their day. And for the Orioles, there’s Cal Ripken Jr., played a whole heap of games. More games than anyone else for the Orioles, they say. These fellas, they were somethin’ special, the real deal.
And get this, the Orioles, they been to the World Series six times, won three of ‘em. That’s pretty good, ain’t it? But that was a long time ago. Now, they gotta work hard to get back there. It ain’t easy, you gotta beat a lot of good teams.
So, that’s the gist of it. Astros won, Orioles lost. McCormick hit them home runs, and Blanco and Valdez pitched real good. That’s all you really need to know. Baseball ain’t rocket science, it’s just a game. You hit the ball, you run, you try to score more runs than the other team. Simple as that.
In summary: The Astros played better than the Orioles in this particular game. The pitchers did a good job keeping the Orioles from scoring many runs, and some of the Astros players were able to hit the ball really far and score runs. That’s why they won.
