Alright, let’s gab a bit about this Joe Mauer fella and his wife. Folks keep yappin’ about ’em, so I figured I’d chime in, ya know? Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I just tell it like it is.
So, this Joe guy, he played baseball, a catcher they say. Hear he was pretty good, won all sorts of fancy awards and such. Made a pile of money too, millions they say! Can you imagine? Land sakes, that’s enough to buy a whole town, I reckon. Anyways, he played for the Minnesota Twins, that’s a team, ya see, and he played there his whole career. Loyal fella, I guess. Folks ’round here seem to like him a whole heap.
Now, about his wife… Her name’s Maddie, Maddie somethin’ or other. Maddie Bisanz, that’s it! Purty name, I s’pose. They say she’s a looker, this Maddie. And she ain’t just a pretty face, neither. She’s a nurse, ya know, helps folks when they’re sick and ailin’. Good for her, I say. It takes a strong woman to do that kind of work.
They met way back when, in high school, same school and all. Imagine that! Sweethearts since they was kids. Kinda romantic, ain’t it? Like somethin’ out of them picture shows. They dated for a spell, maybe a year and a half or so, then Joe, he popped the question. Got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, I bet. That’s how they do it in the movies, anyhow.
They got hitched in 2012, big fancy weddin’ at a church in Saint Paul. Nativity of Our Lord, they called it. Sounds grand, don’t it? I bet Maddie wore a white dress, all long and flowy. And Joe, he probably cleaned up real nice, wore a suit and tie. They said their vows, promised to love and cherish each other, ’til death do us part. You know, the usual stuff.

Now, they got themselves a whole passel of kids. Three of ‘em, I hear. Twin girls, Maren and Emily, born in 2013. And I think they got another one after that, but I don’t rightly remember. Bless their hearts, kids are a handful, but they’re a joy too. Keeps you young, they say. I bet those kids are somethin’ special, with a baseball star daddy and a nurse mama.
Joe, he retired from baseball a few years back, in 2018. Said he wanted to spend more time with his family. Can’t blame him for that. Baseball’s a tough game, takes a toll on your body. And family, well, family’s important. Gotta make time for the ones you love. Now they say Joe is going into the Hall of Fame, that’s a big deal. He was in New York and everything, with all his fans and his three kids.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it, as far as I know. Joe Mauer, baseball player, and Maddie Bisanz, his wife, the nurse. They seem like good folks, down to earth, ya know? Not too big for their britches, even with all that fame and money. At least, that’s what I hear. And that’s all I got to say about it. Don’t go quotin’ me on nothin’, ya hear?
This whole story, it just goes to show ya, even big time baseball stars are just regular folks, gettin’ married, havin’ kids, and livin’ their lives. Just like the rest of us, I reckon, only with a little more money and a few more fancy awards. But in the end, it’s family that matters, ain’t it? That’s what I always say.
