Ah, well, let me tell ya, there’s been a lot of talk ’bout this Khamzat vs Costa thing. Folks are all fired up, sayin’ this one’s been a long time comin’, but don’t get too excited just yet. You see, these two have been schedulin’ fights like they’re tryin’ to catch a chicken in the yard. First time it was supposed to happen, I think back in December 2020, something happened with both of ‘em catchin’ COVID, so that fight got scrubbed. Then, there was the second time, still no luck. Khamzat couldn’t shake off them long-term problems from that nasty virus, so it got called off again. After all that mess, the third time around, they had it scheduled for March 2021, but, you guessed it, more health issues and no fight. Seems like Khamzat’s been like a cat on a hot tin roof, always outta reach for Paulo Costa.
Now, Paulo, he ain’t happy ’bout it one bit. He’s been talkin’ a lot, especially after Khamzat went on to face Robert Whittaker. Costa said, “Khamzat don’t wanna face real fighters, he wants to fight the ones that ain’t got no wrestling, no jiu-jitsu, nothin’. He don’t got the guts to fight someone like me.” Now, that’s a bold statement, ain’t it? Khamzat, he’s been makin’ noise about takin’ easy fights, but Costa ain’t lettin’ him off the hook. He says Khamzat’s gotta show he’s got some real cojones before he’s ready for the likes of him or Robert Whittaker.
Well, Khamzat, he ain’t been sittin’ on his porch either. He’s been showin’ what he’s made of, takin’ down fighters left and right. He even submitted Robert Whittaker, the former middleweight champ, in the first round during UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. People started talkin’ big ‘bout him after that one. But, still, they got history with Costa, and this fight keeps gettin’ put off. It ain’t just a little scuffle in the backyard – no, this one’s been brew’n for a while.
But let’s talk about the October 21st event, shall we? This is where the rubber meets the road, as they say. It’s goin’ down at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, and folks are already makin’ their way over there to see who’s gonna come out on top. Will Khamzat prove that he’s the real deal and show that he’s ready for anyone, or will Costa finally get his hands on him and shut him up once and for all? It’s one of them fights where you don’t know who’s gonna win ’til they’re in the ring.
There’s a lotta folks sayin’ Costa should’ve earned this fight by beatin’ folks like Caio or Izzy first, but Costa says he ain’t waitin’ around no more. He’s ready to throw down with Chimaev and see who’s the toughest. Ain’t no time to be backin’ down now, especially not after all them cancellations. The fans, they’re all stirred up, and you can bet the hype around this fight is bigger than a harvest festival in the fall.
Now, I ain’t one to say who’s gonna win, but if you ask me, these two got a whole lotta pride at stake. Khamzat’s lookin’ like a young bull in a china shop, strong and fast. Costa, on the other hand, he’s like that old mule, tough as nails and hard to knock down. So, when they get in that ring, it’s gonna be a battle of strength and wills. Will Khamzat’s speed and submissions be enough, or will Costa’s power and grit carry him through? Only time will tell, but mark my words, this is one fight that’s sure to get folks talkin’ for a long time.
So, if you’re lookin’ to catch this fight, make sure you know the time and date – it’s on October 21st, at the Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi. You won’t wanna miss it!
