Okay, let’s talk about finding a good spot for Gallium farming this year, 2024.
My Gallium Hunt Begins
So I logged in the other day, right? Needed a whole pile of Gallium for some new weapon I was building. Can’t remember which one exactly, but it needed like, a ton. My first thought went straight back to the old days.

Checking the Usual Suspects
I immediately thought, “Mars, gotta be Mars.” That was always the go-to spot years ago. So, I hopped over to Mars. Started running some missions there, think I did a defense and an excavation. Broke open every locker and container I could find, killed everything that moved. The results? Meh. Got a few Gallium here and there, but it felt really slow. Not like I remembered.
I figured maybe things changed, you know how updates tweak drop rates and locations sometimes. So, I pulled up the star chart again. Looked around. Uranus also lists Gallium as a resource. I remembered farming Polymer Bundles there, but Gallium? Worth a shot, I guessed.
Trying Out Uranus
So, I kitted out my Nekros – always good for extra loot – and jumped into a mission on Uranus. I think I started with Ophelia, the survival node. Seemed like a decent place, lots of enemies, lots of containers usually spawn in those underwater tilesets.
- First run, I went solo. Took my time, made sure to smash everything. The Grineer kept coming.
- Noticed Gallium dropping more frequently than on Mars. Definitely an improvement.
- The underwater bits are still a bit annoying, but hey, if the loot’s good…
Going Public for Efficiency
After that solo run confirmed it was better, I decided to try it with a public squad. Jumped back into Ophelia. Got a decent group, another Nekros even, and someone running a Khora, which always helps corral enemies for easy farming.

Man, that was way better. With four people, enemies spawn like crazy. More enemies mean more chances for drops. Plus, with Desecrate going, we were practically swimming in loot. Gallium drops felt much more consistent. We stayed for about 20 minutes, maybe 25? Walked out with a nice chunk of Gallium, way more than I got from the same time spent on Mars.
Final Thoughts on the Spot
So yeah, based on what I went through, my process ended up like this:
Tried Mars -> Felt slow -> Checked Uranus -> Ran Ophelia (Survival) -> Much better drops -> Confirmed with a squad.
For 2024, if you’re asking me where I’m farming Gallium, it’s Uranus. Ophelia survival seems to be the sweet spot right now. Just bring a frame that helps with loot, like Nekros or Khora, maybe Hydroid, and team up if you can. Makes it faster. And don’t forget to break all those containers you find along the way. Every little bit helps!
