Okay, so I’ve been spending a good chunk of time in Wuthering Waves lately. After pushing through the main storyline bits that are out, I started looking around for what else to do. Naturally, my eyes fell on all those little markers scattered across the map – the side quests.
My Dive into the Side Hustle
I figured, why not? Gotta see what the world’s really about beyond the big flashy stuff. So, I just started picking them up. Usually, it begins pretty simply. You see an NPC with a symbol over their head in Jinzhou or maybe out in one of the smaller settlements.

I’d walk up, initiate the chat. Listened to their stories, problems, whatever they needed help with. Honestly, some were pretty straightforward. “Go here, fetch this,” or “Go there, beat up that group of baddies.” Standard stuff, you know?
The Actual Legwork
So I did just that. I ran across fields, climbed mountains, sometimes even used the glider a whole lot just to get to the quest areas. Following the map markers, obviously.
- Talked to a bunch of different people. Some were interesting, had a bit of personality.
- Collected weird plants, minerals, sometimes parts from defeated Tacet Discords.
- Did a fair bit of fighting. Patrols, ambushes, guarding spots. Good practice, I guess.
- Ran into a few puzzles here and there, nothing too brain-breaking, but a nice change of pace.
I spent hours just hopping from one quest to the next. Sometimes one quest would lead directly into another one, creating these little mini-story arcs in a specific region. That was kinda neat, made the areas feel a bit more lived-in.
Overall Thoughts After Grinding Them Out
Looking back after clearing a whole bunch of ’em… well, it was an experience. Some quests definitely stood out. They gave you tidbits of lore, fleshed out certain characters or places. Made me feel a bit more connected to the world, Huanglong.
But gotta be honest, a lot of them felt like filler too. The classic MMO-style “kill 10 rats” type of thing, just dressed up differently. You do enough, and they start to blend together. You’re just checking boxes off a list, really.
Still, I don’t totally regret doing them. They were a decent source of Union EXP, Astrite, and other materials. Kept me busy, gave me reasons to explore corners of the map I might have otherwise ignored. So yeah, that’s basically been my journey through the Wuthering Waves side quests so far. A mixed bag, but part of the grind, right?
