Alright, let’s talk about crystal cores. We all need ’em, right? For condensed resin, mostly. And man, catching those crystal flies can be a real pain sometimes. They zip off the second you get close. I got pretty fed up chasing them one by one across huge fields.
So, I decided I needed to find the best spot. Not just a decent spot, but the place with the most flies packed together, easy to grab. Save myself some time and frustration. I figured there had to be one area better than the others.
My Hunt for the Fly Hotspot
I started revisiting all the places people mention. You know the ones. That big, glowing tree in Windrise? Yeah, there are flies there, but they’re kinda spread out, you gotta run around the trunk, spook half of them. Not ideal.
Then I spent some time around the Dawn Winery. People swear by it. And sure, there are flies near the statue and around the grapevines. But again, they felt too scattered to me. You dash for one, the others near it fly off high. It was okay, maybe 4 or 5 if you were lucky and fast, but it wasn’t the jackpot I was looking for.
I checked out Mt. Tianheng too, near Liyue Harbor. There are definitely some geo crystal flies there. But climbing and gliding around, trying to snatch them mid-air… honestly, it felt like more work than it was worth. Some were just too high or flew off into awkward spots.
Zeroing In On The Best Location
I was thinking back, trying to remember places where I’d seen a bunch clumped together. And it hit me – that one domain entrance, carved into the mountain near Qingyun Peak. The Guyun Stone Forest one. I always remembered seeing a few right by the door whenever I teleported there.
So, I went back specifically to scout it out. Not to run the domain, just to check the flies. And yeah, this was it. This felt different.
The Spot and Why It Works
Okay, here’s the place I settled on: The domain entrance in Guyun Stone Forest. It’s just super convenient and packed.
- You teleport directly to the domain entrance waypoint.
- Right in front of you, literally steps away, there are usually 3-4 crystal flies just hovering. Easy grabs.
- Then, turn slightly left (away from the domain door) and walk/dash just a little bit down the slope towards the water.
- There’s another cluster of 3-5 flies hanging out near some rocks and bushes.
The key thing here is density. They are really close together in two small groups. You don’t have to run far at all.
My Quick Farming Route
My process now is super simple and fast:
I port to the Guyun domain waypoint. Immediately spam the grab button for the flies right in front. Then I quickly dash left down the little slope. I usually use Sayu because her roll is fast and doesn’t seem to spook them as easily, plus being shorter helps sometimes get under them. Snag the second cluster there. The whole thing takes maybe 15-20 seconds, tops. Even if I fumble and miss one or two, I’m still walking away with 6 or 7 cores reliably.
Compared to running around the winery or that big tree, this is just way more efficient for my time. Quick in, quick out, solid number of cores. It’s become my standard daily check-in spot for flies. Give it a try if you’re tired of chasing them all over the place.
