Alright, so I decided to give this “fast 50 speedrun” thing a shot the other day. Heard some folks talking about it, figured, why not? Sounded like a decent challenge.
Getting Started
First thing, I had to prep. Didn’t go in totally blind. I spent maybe an hour just looking up some basic routes, seeing what others were doing. Didn’t want to copy exactly, but needed a general idea. Made sure I had plenty of snacks and drinks ready, you know how it is. Didn’t want to break the flow once I got going. Logged in, created a fresh character, skipped all the intro stuff I could. Time was ticking, right?

The Early Grind
The first 10 levels or so? Flew by. Just did the main starting quests, killed whatever was in front of me. Pretty standard stuff. Moved onto the next zone. Things started slowing down a little around level 15-20. The quests started sending me back and forth, which was annoying. I tried grouping up for a bit, but honestly, coordinating slowed things down more than helped. People wanted to chat or go AFK. So, I ditched that and went back to solo.
Found a decent spot around level 25. Just a camp with mobs that respawned pretty quick. Put on some music and just started grinding. Round and round, kill, loot, repeat. It wasn’t exciting, not gonna lie. Felt a bit like factory work after the first hour.
Hitting the Wall
Around level 35-40, man, I hit a wall. The experience needed per level just jumped up like crazy. My usual grinding spot wasn’t cutting it anymore. The mobs gave peanuts for XP. I spent maybe two hours trying different areas, different questlines. Got pretty frustrated. Died a couple of times ’cause I got sloppy or pulled too much. Almost quit right there.
- Tried a dungeon, but finding a group took forever.
- Switched back to quests, but the travel time was killing my efficiency.
- Went back to grinding, but a higher-level area this time. More risky, but better XP.
The Final Push
Okay, deep breaths. Decided the high-risk grind was the way. Found another spot, level 40+, tougher mobs, but the XP was way better. Had to really focus, use all my skills right, pop cooldowns. Drank way too much coffee at this point. The levels started ticking up again, slower than the start, but steady. 45… 46… felt like wading through mud.
The last two levels, 48 to 50, were pure willpower. My eyes were burning. Just kept telling myself, “Almost there.” Found a little groove, dodging attacks, getting the kills. Felt like I was on autopilot.
Made It!
And then, bam! Level 50 popped up on the screen. Felt… tired, mostly. But satisfied, yeah. Looked at the clock, saw how long it took. Not bad, not world-record pace, but decent for just buckling down and doing it. Was it fun? Parts were, especially the planning and the final push. The middle part? Super tedious. Glad I did it, though. Another little challenge ticked off the list. Now, probably gonna take a break for a bit. That was intense.
