Alright, let’s talk about getting that Thunder Egg in Stardew. Took me a while, gotta say. Felt like I was looking everywhere for ages.
First off, I figured, hey, it’s a rock thing, right? So I spent days just smashing rocks in the regular mines. Went down to the frozen levels, the lava levels, thinking maybe it popped out of a certain kind of rock, you know? Broke a ton of those gray stones, the copper-looking ones, everything. Got plenty of stone, copper ore, even some iron, but no Thunder Egg. Wasted a lot of time doing that.

Hitting the Geodes
Then I remembered hearing something about geodes. Not the regular blue ones, or the frozen ones, but those rainbow-colored Omni Geodes. Seemed like the best bet for rare stuff. So, I started focusing on getting those.
- Spent a bunch of time down in the Skull Cavern. That place spits out Omni Geodes way more often, especially the deeper you go. Dodging serpents, bombing big groups of rocks. It’s risky business down there.
- Sometimes traded jade for staircases on Sundays with the Desert Trader to get deeper faster.
- Even bought a few from Krobus on Tuesdays when I was desperate, though that gets expensive.
Gathered up a decent stack, maybe like 50 or 60 of them? Felt like a good amount. Then I hauled the whole lot over to Clint, the blacksmith.
The Blacksmith Grind
You know the drill. Stand there at his counter. Plunk down an Omni Geode. Pay the 25 gold. Clink, crack. See what you get. Repeat. It’s kinda hypnotic after a while. Got loads of coal, some iridium ore (which is nice, actually), clay, stone… just the usual geode junk mostly. I was starting to think maybe I had bad luck or the game was messing with me.
It felt like that time years ago I was trying to find a specific old vinyl record. Went to every dusty shop in three towns, digging through crates for weeks. Everyone said “Oh yeah, seen that one around,” but nobody actually had it. Super frustrating.
Anyway, back at Clint’s counter. Geode after geode. More stone. Another piece of coal. Then, suddenly, something different popped up in the little box. A Thunder Egg! Seriously, just like that. After all that grinding and running around the Skull Cavern. It wasn’t even the last geode in the stack, maybe like number 40 something.
Felt pretty good to finally see it. Checked it off the museum collection list right away. So yeah, that was my journey for the Thunder Egg. Just gotta keep cracking those Omni Geodes at Clint’s place. Patience, and a bit of luck with the random chance thing, I guess. That’s how it goes sometimes.
