Okay, so I wanted to mess around with the “Scarlet Thorn” effect in Wuthering Waves. I’d seen some cool videos, figured I’d give it a shot myself. Here’s how it went down, step by step.
First Steps: Getting the Right Character
First things first, I needed to make sure I even had a character that could use the Scarlet Thorn. I poked around in my roster and, thankfully, I had Jiyan. Lucky me! If you don’t have him, you might need to try your luck with the gacha system… or wait for a rerun. That’s the gacha life, I guess.

Experimenting with the Resonance Skill
Next up, I jumped into the training area. No point messing this up in a real fight, right? I started by just spamming his basic attacks, getting a feel for the timing. Then, I focused on using his Resonance Skill, the one that actually creates the Scarlet Thorn effect. It’s that swirling, red, thorny-looking thing.
The Crucial Part: Timing and Positioning
This is where it got a little tricky. I realized pretty quickly that just throwing out the Resonance Skill wasn’t enough. The Scarlet Thorn only shows up for a short time, so I had to make sure the enemy was actually in the area of effect when it activated. I practiced moving around, dodging attacks, and then using the skill at just the right moment. Think of it like setting a trap – you gotta lure them in!
Adding in Forte Circuit
Once I got the hang of the basic timing, I started incorporating Jiyan’s Forte Circuit. after using his Resonance Skill. I kept filling the Forte Circuit gauge, I pressed the heavy attack key and get more damage.
Putting It All Together
Finally, I felt ready to try it out in a real fight. I headed into a domain, picked a tough-looking enemy, and went for it. It took a few tries (okay, maybe more than a few), but I finally managed to consistently trigger the Scarlet Thorn effect and do some serious damage. Feeling pretty good, I gotta say!
Tips I Learned the Hard Way
- Don’t rush! Take your time to learn the timing of the Resonance Skill.
- Practice, practice, practice! The training area is your best friend.
- Watch some videos. Seeing someone else do it can really help.
- Use Jiyan’s Forte Circuit.get more damage.
It’s a fun little mechanic, and it definitely makes Jiyan feel more powerful. Good luck giving it a try yourself!
