Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this “Infernal Mechanic” thing in Baldur’s Gate 3, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to share what I did, cause, you know, maybe it’ll help someone else out.
Figuring it Out
First off, I stumbled upon this whole mechanic kinda by accident. I was just poking around, trying to get every little bit of loot and experience, you know how it is. I found this weird device, and of course, I had to interact with it.

I clicked on this strange-looking thing, and whoosh, suddenly I was in this whole new area. It felt like some kind of puzzle or challenge. I ain’t gonna lie, I was a little lost at first.
- I wandered around for a bit, just trying to get my bearings.
- Checked my map, tried to figure out where I was and what I was supposed to do.
- Found some levers. Naturally, I started pulling them.
Okay, so pulling levers randomly wasn’t the smartest move. I triggered a few traps, nearly got my party wiped out. Classic me. Lesson learned: look before you leap, or in this case, pull.
Getting Serious
After that little near-death experience, I decided to take things a bit more seriously. I started paying attention to the environment, looking for clues. I mean, it’s a game, there’s gotta be some logic to it, right?
I noticed some patterns on the walls, some symbols that seemed to correspond to the levers. So, I started experimenting, trying different combinations. It was a bit of trial and error, but hey, that’s part of the fun.
I also made sure to quicksave a lot. Seriously, quicksave is your best friend in these situations. Nothing worse than making a mistake and having to redo a whole bunch of stuff.
Finally… Success!
After a good amount of tinkering, and a few more close calls with traps, I finally figured it out! I lined up the levers in the right order, heard a satisfying click, and boom, a door opened.

Inside, I found some pretty sweet loot, and I gotta say, it felt good. It’s always satisfying to overcome a challenge, especially when it involves ancient machinery and potentially deadly traps.
So, that’s my little adventure with the Infernal Mechanic. Hopefully, my stumbling around can help someone else get through it a bit smoother. Remember: pay attention, experiment, and for the love of all that is holy, quicksave!
