Alright, so I wanted to mess around with the Artifact of Delusion in Risk of Rain 2. I’d heard about it, seen some videos, but never actually tried it myself. So, I figured, why not? Let’s dive in and see what this thing is all about.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to actually unlock the artifact. If you haven’t done this, no worries, it is easy. All you need to do is input the correct code in Sky Meadow in the underground cave area with the laptop. I already unlocked all the artifacts, and I loaded up a new run. I play solo mostly, so that’s what I did here. Select your character. I select my favorite “Loader”, and choose the artifact, then started the game.
The Game Play
Once I was in the game, it was business as usual, at least at first. You know, killing enemies, collecting items, trying not to die a horrible, fiery death. The thing with the Artifact of Delusion is that it messes with the chests. You gotta interact the chest first and it will spawn some enemies, then a new interactable option will appear on the same chest.
- Opened Chests: the opened chest will now display three items.
- Pick an item: When you choose one, the others will disappear.
If you chose wrong, chest will disappear. But if you choose correct item, you will got a stuff. And the artifact will reset.
My Initial Thoughts
Honestly, my first few runs with this artifact were rough. I kept picking the wrong chest and it disappeared. It felt like I was getting punished for, well, playing the game. It can be frustrating to see those chests disappear, but the fun part is guessing and trying to figure out the system.
But, I kept at it. After a while, I started to get a feel for the game, but I think this is totally random. I do not think there is a trick for this. I managed to snag some really good items. You can get lots of stuff fast. I can definitely see the appeal now.
Wrapping Up
So, would I recommend the Artifact of Delusion? Yeah, I think so. It adds a new level, and it’s definitely something to try out if you’re looking to spice things up. Just be prepared for a bit of initial frustration, It’s all part of the fun, right?
