First Things First: Getting the Stuff
First, I grabbed two videos. One was just me, pretending to, like, throw a kiss. You know, the classic “muah!” pose. The other video was of someone reacting – kinda flinching back like they got slapped by the air. Super dramatic, which is exactly what I was going for.
Diving into the Editor
Next, I opened up my trusty video editor. I’m using a free one, you can probably use whatever you already got on your computer. Then I dragged both videos onto the timeline, making sure the “kiss” video came before the reaction video.
The Tricky Part: Timing is Everything
This is where it got a little fiddly. I played the “kiss” video until the exact moment my hand was closest to the “camera” – like, right before I would “blow” the kiss. Then I trimmed the video right there. Gotta be precise!
Then, I looked at the reaction video. I found the part where the person starts to flinch, and I trimmed that video so it started right at that moment. The goal is to make it look like the flinch is a direct result of the kiss. No delay!
Making it Smooth
- I added a simple crossfade transition between the two clips. It just makes the switch between the videos less jarring. You can probably skip this if you’re feeling edgy, but I like the smooth look.
- I even messed around with the speed of the reaction clip. I ended up slowing it down just a tiny bit to really emphasize the impact. It just added to the “oomph,” you know?

I added the sound of kiss. I have download it and imported the sound effect. Make it feels like more real!
