Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Solo Leveling: Arise, and let me tell you, figuring out the best weapons for solo play has been a JOURNEY. I started out just kinda swinging whatever looked coolest, you know? Big mistake. Huge.
First, I tried a bunch of different characters. Sung Jinwoo is the obvious choice, but I wanted to see if I could make some others work just as well. I spent hours grinding with different hunters, trying to get a feel for their skills and weapon combos.

Experimenting is Key(Also fail)
My early attempts? Total disaster. I’d get wrecked by bosses I knew I should be able to beat. I’d be spamming skills, dodging like crazy, and still end up face-down in the dirt. It was frustrating, to say the least. I almost rage-quit a few times, not gonna lie.
Then I started actually paying attention to the weapon stats. Not just the attack power, but the break damage, the critical hit chance, all that stuff. It’s a lot to take in, honestly. I even made a spreadsheet (yes, I’m that guy now) to track which weapons performed best against different enemy types.
The Power of Break Damage
- Demonic Knight’s Spear: This thing is a BEAST. I found that it’s super effective for quickly breaking enemy defenses. I mean, super fast.
- The Huntsman: It’s a solid, all-around good pick for consistent damage. I used it a lot when I was still learning the ropes.
- West Wind: This has the best break damage of all the SSR weapons and its core hit increase the damage significantly.
My “Aha!” Moment
The big turning point for me was realizing how important “break” damage is. Like, seriously, it’s a game-changer. Once I started focusing on weapons that could quickly break an enemy’s guard, everything got SO much easier. I could interrupt their attacks, stagger them, and then unleash a flurry of my own skills. It was beautiful.
So, after all that trial and error, I’ve finally settled on a few go-to weapons. I use a combination of my own experience, some tips i read from players, and what other player’s suggestions I’ve seen.
It’s all about finding what works best for your playstyle, though. Don’t be afraid to experiment! Try out different combinations, see what feels good, and don’t get discouraged if you wipe a few times. It’s all part of the process. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some gates to clear!
