Okay, so I was diving deep into Genshin Impact the other day, trying to figure out why my game kept lagging during those epic boss fights. I mean, who hasn’t been there, right? You’re about to unleash your ultimate attack, and BAM! Frame rate drops, and you’re eating dirt. I was convinced it was my internet connection, but everything else was running smooth as butter.
So, I started digging. First, I checked my in-game settings. You know, the usual stuff: lowered the graphics quality, turned off bloom, and all that jazz. No dice. Still laggy.

Then, I monitored my system’s performance. I opened up the Task Manager (good old Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and kept an eye on the CPU, GPU, and memory usage while playing. I noticed something interesting: my CPU usage was spiking like crazy whenever the lag happened!
My GPU? Chillin’. Memory? Plenty to spare. It was the CPU all along! It was like a lightbulb went off in my head. I had many programs working. It suddenly crashed with a blue screen.
So, I went on a mission to find the CPU-hungry culprit. Closed down all my process one by one.
I started closing background applications one by one and testing the game after each closure. Web browsers, music players, chat apps – everything went offline. And then, finally, I found it.
The Real Deal
Turns out, a little auto-update feature in one of my other gaming clients was running wild in the background. The silly process was hogging up my CPU resources without me even realizing it! I disabled the auto-update, restarted the game, and boom! Smooth sailing, even during the most chaotic battles.
The True Culprit Genshin, solved.
