Okay, guys, let’s dive into my latest project – Gunsmith Part 25. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m stoked to share the whole messy process with you.
So, I started by gathering all my tools and parts. I’m talking screwdrivers, wrenches, punches, the whole shebang. My workbench looked like a bomb had exploded, but hey, organized chaos, right?

The first thing I tackled was disassembling the lower receiver. This is always a bit nerve-wracking because you’ve got these tiny springs and detents that love to go flying across the room. I swear, I spent a good 20 minutes crawling around on the floor looking for one of those little buggers.
Disassembling process
- First remove the Magazine.
- Then remove the Butt.
- Be careful of the small spring.
Once I got the lower receiver apart, I moved on to installing the new trigger. This was the main reason for this whole project. I’d been itching to upgrade to a lighter, crisper trigger pull, and let me tell you, it was worth it. The installation itself was pretty straightforward, just a matter of swapping out a few parts and making sure everything was lined up properly.
Next up, I installed a new buffer tube and stock. This was more of a cosmetic upgrade, but I also wanted something a bit more adjustable. Getting the castle nut tightened just right was a bit of a pain, and I definitely scratched things up a bit in the process. Battle scars, I guess?
Reassembling process
Then comes the most difficult part, reassembling!
- Install the new buffer tube and stock.
- Carefully Install the Butt.
- Finally install the Magazine.
After that, it was just a matter of reassembling everything. This is where I usually mess something up, like forgetting a spring or putting a pin in backward. But, miraculously, I managed to get it all back together without any major hiccups.
Finally, I tested everything out. The new trigger felt amazing, and the new stock was way more comfortable. I ran a few mags through it to make sure everything was functioning properly, and it was smooth sailing. Success!

Overall, Gunsmith Part 25 was a challenging but rewarding project. I definitely learned a few things along the way, and I’m already itching to start on the next one. Stay tuned, folks!
