Okay, so today I decided to dive into this “There Will Come Soft Rains” thing in Genshin Impact. I’d seen some chatter about it online, figured I’d give it a shot. Honestly, I went in pretty blind, not really knowing what to expect.
Figuring Out the Starting Point
First things first, I had to find where this whole quest even starts. After poking around the map for a bit, and a little help from an old forum, I realized it’s tied to the Elynas area in Fontaine. I teleported over to the nearest waypoint and started exploring.

The Melusine Mystery
I soon stumbled upon this little Melusine named Puca. Talking to her, it was clear that this is the * seemed pretty bummed about some broken stuff, so I figured I’d lend a hand, of course. I started to help her by her instruction.
Following the Breadcrumbs (and Water)
Puca sent me off to check out some “strange” spots nearby. I followed the quest markers, mostly dealing with some water-based puzzles and a few Hydro slimes along the way. I can say that I really had to use the brain, not so hard though.
The Big, Weird Anomaly
Eventually, all this led me to this massive, glowing, purple… thing. It was clearly the source of all the problems, and it looked pretty intimidating. I remember i thinked that what should I do.
Puzzle Solving and Goop Cleaning
Turns out, I had to clean up the goop around the anomaly by solving more puzzles. Honestly, these puzzles weren’t too bad once you figured out the mechanics. It involved moving some crystals around, activating mechanisms, and a bit of trial and error. After that, i deaned up all these goops.
The Final Showdown (Not Really)
Once all the goop was gone, there wasn’t a big boss fight or anything, which was a little surprising. Instead, it was more about restoring the area to its natural state. I interacted with the core of the anomaly, and things started to calm down.
Wrap-Up and Rewards
After that, I just needed to chat with Puca again, and that was it. Quest complete! I got some Primogems, experience, and some other goodies. It wasn’t a super long or difficult quest, but it was a nice little story with a satisfying conclusion.

It’s always fun exploring these little side stories in Genshin. They add so much flavor to the world. If you’re looking for something chill and a little different to do in Fontaine, I’d say give this one a try.
