Okay, so I finally decided to take the plunge and try out “Gray Zone Last Flight”. I’d seen some buzz about it online, and honestly, the whole “extraction shooter” thing sounded kinda intense, but I was in the mood for something new.
First things first, I had to get the game. Easy enough, found it, bought it, and started the download. While it was downloading, I did a quick scan of some forums to see if there were any “beginner tips” or anything. Found a few threads – some people complaining about bugs, others raving about the realism. You know, the usual internet stuff.

Getting Started
Once it was installed, I launched the game. The initial setup was pretty straightforward. I spent some time messing with the graphics settings. I wanted to make sure I was getting a good balance of visuals and performance. My rig isn’t exactly top-of-the-line, so I had to do adjust a little.
Then came character creation. It was that basic, just choose how my guy looked. Picked some gear, and boom, I was ready to go. Or so I thought.
First Few Attempts (aka, Getting My Butt Kicked)
My first few attempts were…rough. I mean, REALLY rough. I jumped into a match, and it was immediate chaos. Gunfire everywhere, people yelling in voice chat, and I was just running around like a headless chicken. I got dropped within, like, two minutes. No idea who shot me, where they were, or what I was even supposed to be doing.
Second attempt, same story. Third attempt? You guessed it. I was starting to get a little frustrated. It felt like everyone else knew exactly what they were doing, and I was just a target.
Learning the Ropes (Slowly)
I decided I needed to actually, you know, learn how to play. I started watching some gameplay videos, and I found a guy on Streamer who seemed to know what he was doing. I picked up a few key things:
- Move slow. This isn’t Call of Duty. Running around gets you killed.
- Listen carefully. Footsteps, gunfire, even distant voices can give away enemy positions.
- Check your corners. Seriously, check EVERY corner.
- Loot everything. Ammo, meds, gear – you need it all.
Armed with this newfound (and very basic) knowledge, I jumped back in. And… I still died. But I lasted longer! I even managed to get a couple of kills! It was a total fluke, I’m sure, but it felt good.

Making Progress
Over the next few hours, I started to get the hang of things. I was still dying a lot, but I was also starting to understand the map layout, the different weapon types, and the general flow of the game. I even managed to successfully extract a couple of times, which was a HUGE win.
I experimented with different loadouts. I tried being stealthy, I tried being aggressive, I tried a mix of both. Still figuring out what works best for me, but it’s been fun experimenting.
My Thoughts So Far
So, after my first day with “Gray Zone Last Flight,” I’m definitely intrigued. It’s brutal, unforgiving, and sometimes downright frustrating. But there’s something really satisfying about finally figuring out how to survive, even if it’s just for a little while.
It’s definitely not a game for everyone. But if you’re looking for a challenging, hardcore shooter experience, and you’re willing to put in the time to learn the ropes, it might be worth checking out. Just be prepared to die. A lot. I’m still a total noob, but I’m having fun, and that’s all that matters, right?
