Alright, folks, let’s dive into this “divergent universe best team” thing I’ve been messing around with. I gotta say, it started as a random idea and turned into a bit of an obsession.
The Initial Spark
So, I was re-watching the Divergent movies – don’t judge, they’re a guilty pleasure – and I started thinking, “What if I could build my own ultimate team from across all the factions? What would that even look like?” It seemed like a fun thought experiment, so I grabbed a notebook and a pen.

Building the Framework
First, I needed to establish my goal and think up what I need. My own purpose to combine them.
Then, I gotta figure out what I want.
- Dauntless: Obviously, you need some serious muscle and bravery. These guys are the fighters.
- Erudite: Gotta have brains, right? The strategists and planners.
- Abnegation: The selfless ones. Maybe for healers or support roles?
- Candor: Honesty…and maybe some good old-fashioned blunt force interrogation skills?
- Amity: Peacekeepers, mediators. Good for keeping the team from killing each other, probably.
The Trials and Tribulations (aka My Messy Notes)
I spent, like, a whole afternoon scribbling down names, crossing them out, arguing with myself. I started with the obvious choices, like Tris and Four, but then I got into the weeds. Do I want someone like Peter, who’s a total jerk but also undeniably skilled? What about the lesser-known characters? It was a mess. My notebook looked like a Dauntless training ground after a particularly rough day.
I even made a little spreadsheet (yes, I’m that person) to track skills and potential team roles. Columns for combat, strategy, tech skills, “moral compass” (which was a surprisingly tricky one to fill), and even a “likelihood of betraying the team” column. Hey, gotta be realistic, right?
The “Aha!” Moment
After hours of agonizing, I finally had a breakthrough. I realized I was focusing too much on individual skills and not enough on how the team would actually work together. I needed a balance, not just a collection of all-stars. I needed people who could compensate for each other’s weaknesses.
The (Almost) Final Roster
Okay, so I’m still tweaking it, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

- The Leader: Tris (Divergent). She’s got the fighting skills, the smarts, and the compassion. She can understand all the factions.
- The Muscle: Four (Dauntless). No explanation needed. He’s a beast.
- The Strategist: A lesser-known Erudite character. They’re brilliant, analytical, and can see ten steps ahead.
- The Healer/Support: Someone from Abnegation. Good to support the team.
- The Wild Card: I’m leaning towards a reformed Candor. Brutally honest, yes, but also fiercely loyal once they commit.
The Ongoing Experiment
Honestly, this is still a work in progress. I keep re-thinking my choices, swapping people in and out. It’s like a never-ending game of fantasy football, but with dystopian factions. I might even try to write some fanfiction about it, just to see how this team would actually handle a real crisis. Maybe, I need try more.
Anyway, that’s my deep dive into building a “divergent universe best team.” It’s been a fun, slightly nerdy ride, and it’s reminded me how much I enjoy these kinds of thought experiments. What do you guys think? Who would be on your team?
