Okay, so I wanted to get that cool flashing effect on my custom WWE 2K character. You know, like the entrance videos where the lights strobe and stuff? I figured it couldn’t be that hard, right? Famous last words.
First, I jumped into the game’s creation suite. I already had my wrestler designed, all the moves picked out, the whole nine yards. I spent a good hour just messing with the different entrance options. They have some preset lighting effects, but nothing that really gave me that intense flashing I was going for.

I started getting a little frustrated. I mean, I had this awesome vision in my head, and the in-game tools just weren’t cutting it. I thought, “There’s gotta be a way to do this!”
So, I hit the forums. I spent what felt like forever scrolling through posts, looking for anyone who had done something similar. I found a few threads talking about advanced entrance editing, but most of it was way over my head. People were talking about hex editing and stuff I’d never even heard of.
- I tried one suggestion that involved messing with the stage ramp settings.
- It looked pretty, not gonna to lie.
- I thought I was close but failed.
Then, I stumbled across this one post. It was kind of buried, and the guy who wrote it didn’t exactly explain things in the clearest way. But he mentioned using a specific combination of stage lights and camera angles to create a pseudo-flashing effect. It wasn’t true flashing, but it was close.
I went back into the game and started experimenting. I picked a stage that had those big, bright spotlights. Then, I messed around with the camera cuts, making them really fast and switching between different angles focused on the lights.
It took a lot of trial and error. I kept tweaking the timing, the camera positions, the brightness of the lights. I probably spent another two hours just on this. My eyes were starting to hurt from staring at the screen.
The Result
Finally, I got something I was pretty happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it definitely gave the impression of flashing lights. It was more like a rapid flickering, but it added that extra bit of intensity I was looking for. I saved it, tested it out a few times, and yeah, it looked pretty damn cool.

So, that’s my story. It wasn’t easy, and it definitely took some patience. But I managed to get a decent flashing effect for my WWE 2K character’s entrance. If you’re trying to do something similar, just be prepared to spend some time experimenting. And don’t be afraid to dig through those online forums – you never know what you might find!
