Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of UFC 4 lately, and I finally figured out how to do a proper body slam. It’s not as straightforward as you might think, but man, it’s satisfying when you pull it off. Here’s how I learned to do it.
First off, I spent hours just getting my butt kicked. I mean, I was trying everything, button mashing, you name it. Nothing worked. I thought maybe it was some super-secret combination, like a Mortal Kombat fatality or something. I even tried yelling at the TV, but no luck there either.
Then, I decided to actually, you know, look at the controls. Yeah, I know, it sounds obvious, but I was too busy getting pummeled to think about it. Turns out, it’s all about clinching your opponent. That’s the first step. You gotta get close and hold them tight.
Getting the Clinch
- To get into a clinch, I usually try to move in close to my opponent.
- Then press the right stick towards my opponent to initiate the clinch.
- If you’re too far, you’ll just throw a punch, and that’s not what we want.
Once I had the clinch down, the next part was figuring out the actual slam. This took some trial and error. I tried holding different buttons while in the clinch, but most of the time, I just ended up throwing knees or elbows. It can be a good way to do some damage, but, again not what we’re going for here.
Executing the Slam
- After getting into the clinch, I realized I need to press L2 + Square on my controller at the same time to do a body slam.
- This is for PlayStation. For Xbox, it should be LT + X.
Boom! The first time I did it, I almost jumped out of my chair. My fighter picked up the other guy like a sack of potatoes and just slammed him down. It was glorious.
It takes practice. Timing is key, you can’t just spam the buttons. You gotta get the clinch, then quickly do the L2 + Square thing. It will take a while to get the hang of it. I am still not able to do it consistently.
So there you have it. That’s how I finally figured out how to do a body slam in UFC 4. Hope this helps someone out there. Now go out there and slam some fools!
