Alright, so I was super pumped to play UFC 5 with my buddy who’s on Xbox. I’m on PS5, and we were hyped to finally have some online matches. But, man, was I in for a surprise.
First off, I went straight to the game, fired it up, and tried to find a way to invite my friend. I looked through all the menus, the online modes, everything. Nothing. I thought maybe I was missing something obvious, you know? So, I even restarted the game, thinking maybe it was some weird bug.
- Went to the game.
- Fired it up.
- Looked through all the menus.
- Restarted the game.
Still nothing. At this point, I was getting a bit frustrated. So, I did what any normal person would do: I started Googling. I typed in “UFC 5 crossplay Xbox PS5” and started reading through the search results.
And that’s when it hit me. Turns out, UFC 5 doesn’t even support crossplay between Xbox and PS5. I was like, “What?! Are you serious?” I mean, come on, it’s 2023, and most games nowadays have crossplay. Even other EA Sports games like FC 24 and Madden NFL 24 have it. Why not UFC 5?
I felt kinda bummed out, to be honest. I was really looking forward to playing with my friend. We even planned our whole evening around it. We were already talking smack, deciding who would be who, you know?
So, yeah, that’s my story of disappointment. I really tried everything, searched everywhere, but nope, no crossplay in UFC 5 between Xbox and PS5. It’s a real head-scratcher, especially since other similar games have it. I don’t know what the folks at EA were thinking, but it’s a total letdown. Guess I’ll just have to stick to playing with my PS5 buddies for now.
EA’s Official Words
By the way, in case you don’t believe me, I found an official Q&A from EA. Here’s what it says:
“UFC 5 doesn’t support cross-play or cross-progression between platforms.”
So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. Pretty disappointing, right?
