So, I’ve been having this headache with Destiny 2 lately. Keeps giving me this “CAT error” thing, and it’s driving me nuts. It basically stopped me from playing the game. I figured I’d share how I finally got around it, in case anyone else is pulling their hair out over this.

- Checked for Updates Manually: I usually rely on automatic updates. Big mistake. I went into my game launcher. After looking around I found the option to manually check for updates. Clicked that bad boy, and lo and behold, there was a new update waiting.
- Restarted Everything: Oldest trick in the book, but it works. I restarted the game launcher, my console. Gave everything a fresh start. Sometimes it just takes once, sometimes it takes a few times.
- Repeated the process: This happened right after a new update, so I did these two steps a few times before it actually started downloading.
- Waited It Out: This was the most annoying part. Updates can take a while. I grabbed a drink, and watched some videos while the update did its thing.
Once the update was fully installed, I launched Destiny 2 again. And boom, no more CAT error. It was that simple, yet so frustrating to figure out. It seems like the game is picky about being up-to-date.
Honestly, it’s a bit of a pain to have to do all this manually. Automatic updates should just work, right? Anyway, if you’re stuck with the CAT error in Destiny 2, just make sure your game is fully updated. Hopefully, this little write-up helps someone else out there. Game on!
