Okay, so I was trying to figure out this whole local multiplayer thing with WWE 2K24. Specifically, I wanted to see if I could play with two controllers on the same console. You know, for some good old-fashioned couch co-op.
First off, I found out that WWE 2K24 is available on a bunch of platforms – PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series XS. Cool, cool. But that didn’t really answer my question about using two controllers on one console.

I started digging around online. Found some people saying they couldn’t get it to work, which was a bummer. But then I saw this tip about keeping your lobby private and inviting your friend directly. Okay, maybe there’s hope. I have to try!
So, I fired up the game on my PS5, grabbed my two DualSense controllers, and got ready to rumble. I wanted to play tag match with one controller each and against AI.
Here’s what I did:
- Set up a match: I went to the local play options and set up a tag team match against the AI.
- Activated the second controller: I pressed the PS button on my second controller. Then i logged into another account to activate it.
- Joined the match: When the match started, both controllers were working! I could control one wrestler, and my buddy controlled the other. We were teaming up against the computer-controlled opponents.
- The game is on!: We played many times.
It worked! We were playing a tag match, locally, with two controllers. It was awesome! I also tried some other match types, like Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble. Those worked too. Seems like you can do pretty much any match type with two controllers.
So, yeah, you totally can play WWE 2K24 locally with two controllers. Just set up the match, activate both controllers, and you’re good to go. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a championship to defend with my friend!
