Okay, so I’ve been grinding in the mid lane for a while now in 2023, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started the year with a bunch of different champions, trying to figure out what works best.
First, I spent a good chunk of time experimenting. I jumped into countless games, playing everything from assassins to mages. I tried to keep track of what felt strong and what felt like a struggle. It was a lot of trial and error, and honestly, some games were a total disaster. But hey, that’s how you learn, right?

After a while, I started to see some patterns. Certain champions just seemed to perform better overall. I looked at things like win rates, pick rates, and ban rates. It’s not just about what I personally enjoy, but also what’s effective in the current meta. Some champs were just getting stomped, no matter how hard I tried. And others were total garbage. This became very clear after a few weeks of playing. I realized that I should check out some guides.
So, I checked out some online guides and tier lists. It was helpful to see what other players considered strong. I compared these lists with my own experiences, and it helped me narrow down my focus. I ditched the champs that were clearly underperforming and focused more on those with potential. Also, I joined some online groups and read some advice there, although I had to take it with a grain of salt, because, you know, it’s the internet. But still, it was better than playing blind, which I’ve been doing for way too long.
My Champion Pool
- Syndra: She’s been a beast for me. Her wave clear is amazing, and she can one-shot squishies like it’s nobody’s business. I’ve climbed quite a bit just by spamming her.
- Some others: I have a few pocket picks, but I won’t bore you with those today. Maybe some other time.
That’s basically my journey in the mid lane so far this year. It’s been a process of experimenting, analyzing, and adapting. I’m still learning and improving, but I feel like I’ve come a long way. And now I can play on the level of Emerald+ players, which is pretty good, I guess.
I’m not sure if that’s what you were expecting, but that’s pretty much what I’ve been up to. Nothing too technical, just sharing my experience. Cheers!
