Okay, so today I ran into a really annoying issue while trying to play with my friends. We grouped up, started to find a match, and boom, stuck on a screen that said “party member preprocessing”. We waited and waited, and nothing. No game, just that message staring back at us.
At first, I thought it might be my internet acting up again. You know how it is, sometimes it’s smooth sailing, other times it’s like wading through mud. But nope, my internet was running just fine. I even did a quick speed test to make sure.

Then, we tried the classic turn-it-off-and-on-again move. We all restarted our games, hoping that would kick things into gear. Still nothing. That “party member preprocessing” message was mocking us. It seemed to pop up whenever the game mode or the map changed. It was super frustrating!
- Restarted our games multiple times.
- Checked my internet connection, which was working perfectly.
- Noticed the problem happens when the game mode or map changes.
We were about to give up when one of my buddies suggested we try restarting our entire consoles. I have an Xbox. He said he saw someone online mention that fixed it for them. A bit extreme, but hey, we were desperate. So, we all powered down our Xboxes completely, waited a minute, and fired them back up.
It actually worked!
We logged back in, grouped up again, and this time, no annoying message! We found a game right away and finally got to play. It was a huge relief. I’m not sure why that “party member preprocessing” thing happens, but at least we found a workaround. It is a dumb way, but who knows. If you ever run into this issue, try restarting your whole system. It might just save your gaming session!
