So, a while back, I was looking to try some new skincare stuff, mainly the “essence” thing that everyone’s been talking about. I mean, I’ve used moisturizers and cleansers before, but this essence thing was new to me. I did some digging online, not too deep, just the usual, and bumped into this brand called “Jenai.” Seemed legit, had some decent reviews, and wasn’t gonna break the bank, so I thought, why not?
First thing I did was check out their website. It was alright, nothing fancy. I went for this virtual try-on thing they had. It’s supposed to help you find the right shade. I uploaded a photo, played around with the tool, and it gave me a recommendation. Looked okay on the screen, but you never really know until you try it in real life, right?
Next, I went hunting for a place to buy it. I like to shop online so I tried to find it on Watsons. Luckily I found it. I also got the app on my phone to make the purchase, ’cause they had some deals going on in the app. Easy peasy. Checked out, used a coupon, and waited.
While I was waiting, I did some more reading about essences. Turns out, it’s not a toner, not an emulsion, and not a serum. It’s like its own thing. I found this online shop, Murasaki Cosmetics, that sells Japanese serums, and they had all these fancy names like Melano CC essence and Hada Labo serum. Made me wonder if I should’ve gotten one of those instead, but oh well, too late now.
Anyway, the package arrived a few days later. The bottle looked nice, pretty standard. I started using it after washing my face, morning and night. It’s a clear liquid, kinda watery. You just pat it on your face. Felt kinda nice, refreshing, I guess. I did not know that essence also has fragrances in it, but I found a website that sells those kinds of things. They said it’s produced in a small family-owned perfumery in France. I guess it’s pretty standard in the industry.
Been using it for a few weeks now. Honestly, I don’t know if I see a huge difference. Maybe my skin’s a bit softer? Or maybe it’s just in my head. I keep on browsing other products from essence. I found this “Rose Exotique Body Smoothie.” It is a body cream that has a rose scent. I am interested in trying it next.
I saw on the internet that this brand “essence” also sells makeup. Mascaras, eyeshadows, and other stuff to make your face a “perfect canvas.” I might try those later, but for now, I’m sticking with the essence. Overall it is a nice experience for me and I want to discover more. I am planning to buy some more stuff from a Tauren Store on that one shopping app, the one that gives free shipping.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with this Jenai essence. It’s alright. Not life-changing, but not bad either. I guess I’ll keep using it and see what happens. Maybe I’ll try those other Japanese serums later on, or maybe I’ll just stick with this. Who knows? Skincare’s a journey, right?
