Today, I wanted to mess around with something I’ve been eyeing for a while – Prince Devitt. I’d heard a lot about this guy and seen some cool stuff online, so I figured, why not dive in and see what the fuss is all about?
First thing I did was hit up the internet to find some decent videos. I wanted to get a good look at his moves and overall style. There’s a ton of stuff out there, but I found a few highlight reels that seemed pretty solid. I watched those a couple of times, just taking it all in.
Then came the fun part – trying to mimic some of his signature moves. Now, I’m no wrestler, so this was definitely a learning experience. I started with some of his simpler stuff, like the basic dropkicks and some of his quick strikes. I cleared out a space in my living room, put down a mat, and just started practicing.
- Dropkicks: These looked easier than they actually were. I spent a good chunk of time just trying to get the jump and the extension right.
- Strikes: Devitt’s got a really snappy way of throwing punches and kicks. I tried to copy that quick, sharp motion, focusing on speed rather than power.
After getting somewhat comfortable with the basics, I moved on to some of his more complex maneuvers. His “Bloody Sunday” DDT and the “1916” lift-up DDT were the ones I really wanted to try. Obviously, I wasn’t going full force or anything, but I wanted to get a feel for the movements.
- Bloody Sunday: This one was tricky. It’s all about the quick snap and getting the positioning right. I practiced the motion slowly, over and over, just to get the muscle memory going.
- 1916: This is a tough one. Lifting someone, even partially, takes a lot of core strength. I tried to simulate the lift motion, focusing on engaging my core and keeping my back straight.
I spent a good few hours just messing around, trying different moves, and seeing what felt right. It was a pretty good workout, and I definitely gained a new appreciation for what professional wrestlers do. It’s way harder than it looks!
By the end of the day, I was tired but pretty satisfied. I didn’t magically transform into Prince Devitt, but I had fun trying out his moves and learning more about his style. It was a cool way to spend an afternoon, and I might even try it again sometime. Maybe I’ll work on those dropkicks a bit more – they’re still pretty rough!
