Okay, so the other day I was messing around with Cyberpunk 2077, and I ran into this whole cross-platform saves thing. It sounded cool at first, being able to play on my PC and then pick up where I left off on my console, but honestly, it started to get on my nerves. Too much clutter, you know? So, I decided to turn it off.
First, I tried disabling cloud saves on Steam. I thought, “Yeah, that’s gotta be it,” but nope, it didn’t do the trick. The saves were still syncing across my devices like some kind of digital ghost.
Then, I remembered seeing something in the game’s settings. I fired up the game, went into Settings, and then Gameplay. You’ll find a bunch of options there, but what we are looking for is the “Miscellaneous” section. I did see “Enable Cross-Platform Saves,” but it was already toggled on. I thought, “Maybe it is a bug since it was newly updated?”.
Alright, at that point, I went full-on detective mode. I scoured the internet, dug through forums, and I found something. Some people were saying that you could restart the game, and then go back to the Gameplay menu, and turn off the Cross-platform Saves. I thought it was too simple, but I tried it anyway. This time, I can disable it, so I did.
After I did that, I alt-tabbed out of the game to try and restore my saves back to how they were before all this cross-platform stuff.
I found another method that had to do with the console’s settings, but it seemed a little bit extreme. Something about going into the Settings menu, selecting System, then Console info, and finally Reset Console. I mean, that sounded like a last resort, and I was happy I didn’t have to go there.
- Launch Cyberpunk 2077.
- Go to Settings.
- Navigate to Gameplay.
- Look for the Miscellaneous section.
- Find Enable Cross Platform Saves and if it is on, try to turn it off.
- If you can’t, restart the game and try to turn it off again.
- Once it is off, you are good to go.
- If it still does not work, you can try to Alt-Tab out of the game and restore your saves.
So yeah, that’s how I managed to turn off cross-platform saves in Cyberpunk 2077. It was a bit of a headache, but I got there in the end. Now I can keep my PC and console saves separate, just the way I like it. No more confusion, no more clutter. Just pure, unadulterated gaming bliss.
