Okay, here’s my story about “Charles Oliveira Dance Moms”
So, the other day, I was just messing around on the internet, you know how it is. I started by clearing out my browser history. I like to do that pretty often, just to keep things tidy and make sure that websites aren’t tracking too much. You never know these days.
Then I searched for some videos to watch while I ate lunch. I don’t even remember what I was searching for specifically, and at one point I’m pretty sure I typed “?” into the search bar and hit enter just to see what would happen. Then I got sidetracked. One of those rabbit holes, you know?
Anyway, I somehow landed on this video of Charles Oliveira, the MMA fighter. Now, normally I’m not a huge MMA guy, but this was different. He was, like, dancing. And not just any dancing. It was some clip from “Dance Moms”. I watched the whole thing, totally confused but also entertained. I thought to myself, “This is weird, but I like it.”
This whole thing got me thinking about identity, and how people can be so many different things. Like, one minute you’re a tough MMA fighter, and the next you’re on a reality show about dancing. It is kind of related to how different people approach kids on the streets and poverty, right? We like to put people into these neat little boxes, but real life is way more complicated than that. Anyway, it was a pretty wild ride, and it all started with me clearing my browser history and then typing some random stuff into the search bar. The internet is a strange place, man.
Here are some random thoughts I had during this whole experience:
- What are these websites doing with my data?
- How do we judge people?
- How do we understand who we are?
- Man, the internet is weird.
That’s all, and I finished my funny experience.
