So, I was playing “The First Descendant” the other day, and I was getting a little tired of my character’s default look. It’s a cool game, but you know, after staring at the same colors for hours, you start itching for a change. I decided to try and change my descendant’s color. It’s my first try to do that and I’m very excited!
First, I tried to mess around in the game. I remembered that there’s this thing called “Caliber”, the game’s currency, I only got them by paying for real money. I was hoping there might be some hidden option to mix colors like the old day, I heard something about a crafting station in Albion, where you could mix random paints to get new colors. But, bummer, that’s gone now. Looks like the only way to get the colors you want is to buy them directly. Each color costs 25 Caliber. Ouch. My wallet’s gonna hate me.
But I found another interesting thing called “Supply Coins” which you can earn by completing weekly challenges. I need to get enough of them so I can unlock some free items. I think that’s also a way to change the color.
Then I started poking around the menus. Found the “Inventory” button, clicked it, and there it was, “Customize”. From there, I went to “Descendant/Weapon Skins”. I picked the item I wanted to recolor and looked for a “Change color” option. Finally, I saw something that said “Change color (F)”, and boom, there were the paint slots!
Here’s the fun part:
- Open Inventory: Just hit the “I” key. Easy peasy.
- Go to Customize: It’s right there in the inventory menu.
- Find Skins: Click on “Descendant/Weapon Skins”.
- Pick Your Item: Select the thing you want to paint.
- Change Color: Press “F” to open the paint slots.
You can select paint in each part to change the color, it’s not that hard. I spent a good chunk of time just playing around with different color combinations. It’s actually pretty fun, like being a kid with a new box of crayons. But you know, in a futuristic, monster-slaying kind of way.
So yeah, that’s how I went about changing colors in “The First Descendant”. It’s not rocket science, but it took a bit of exploring to figure out. If you’re like me and you like customizing your characters, give it a shot. It’s a nice way to make your descendant feel more like your own.
That’s all I want to share with you guys, hope you can try it by yourself!
