Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this game, Deadlock, right? And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride with all these updates and changes they keep throwing at us. I just wanted to share my experience, you know, from the beginning to now.
So first off, they added this new experimental mode called Hero Labs. Sounds cool, huh? They tossed in like six new heroes in there. I remember trying out Holliday, Calico, Wrecker, and Fathom. It was a total mess at first, everyone just trying to figure out who’s who and what’s what.
Then, boom! They dropped this huge matchmaking rework. The update totally changed how we find games. They said something about merging the normal and ranked pools, but, honestly, it just felt like longer wait times at first. I kept running into some of the other heroes added in Hero Labs, and man, it took a while to get used to them.
- Abrams: Dude got stronger, his damage went up by like 10%.
- Bebop: His shield got buffed, up by 20% now.
- Grey Talon: This guy can reach you from further away now, with abilities extended by 15%. It was so annoying!
- Ivy: They changed the cooldown for one of her skills.
After that, they added a new hero, Mirage. Seriously, another one? It’s like they can’t stop. But hey, more to play with, I guess.
And get this, they finally started doing something about cheaters. They put in some kind of anti-cheat system. About time, if you ask me. It’s just an “initial” system though, so who knows how good it actually is. But it did catch some cheaters, so that’s something.
Oh, and the Guardians? Yeah, they messed with them too. Now they do more damage to troopers but also take more damage. And something about the range for souls being reduced. I don’t even know what that means, but it changed how I played around them, that’s for sure.
Then, back in November 2024, another update, another hero. This one’s called Trapper. They also made a bunch of other changes to the gameplay and balance. I had to relearn how to play some of my favorite heroes all over again.
And then, just recently, on September 12th, 2024, they dropped a major patch. It’s a major one, all right. Matchmaking is now 24/7, and we got a new minimap. The whole interface looks different now. It was like playing a brand new game again. I spent the whole day just exploring the new stuff.
One of the developers said something about changing their update schedule. They used to do it every two weeks, but now they’re saying it’s harder for them to make changes. I guess making games isn’t as easy as it looks. I still tried to play as much as possible to figure out how all the changes affected my gameplay.
And then there’s a new Streamer Mode too. I guess that’s cool for people who stream, but I don’t, so, whatever.
This page was last edited on December 22nd, 2024, so I guess that’s the latest for now. But who knows when the next update will hit and what other crazy changes they’ll make. It’s a never-ending cycle of learning and adapting. But hey, that’s what makes it fun, right?
I’ve been playing this game for a while now, and it’s been a rollercoaster of updates and changes. I just wanted to share my experience. So that’s my story with Deadlock. It’s been a mess, but a fun mess.
