Okay, so I’ve been hooked on this mobile game called Squad Busters lately. It’s one of those online action things from Supercell, you know, the guys who made Clash of Clans. This game just dropped globally on May 29th, 2024. Apparently, it was supposed to be their biggest launch ever. They even had 40 million pre-registrations. That’s a lot, right? But, oh boy, did things go sideways.
After they launched, it was like a dumpster fire. You couldn’t even play the game properly. It kept getting stuck, or characters would just wander off on their own. And don’t even get me started on the syncing issues. It was a mess. They had all these people hyped up, and then bam! It all went poof.
So, I started digging around, trying to figure out what was going on. Turns out, the game doesn’t work on rooted devices, which a lot of people have. I tried a bunch of things, even that Magisk Denylist thing, but nope, no luck. I even tried closing and reopening the app. I stumbled upon some forums where people were saying the game became unplayable after the update. It was like the developers totally broke the game. I even tried playing on a different connection, thinking maybe it was my Wi-Fi, but the same weird stuff kept happening.
Then, boom, they dropped an “optional update” that supposedly fixed all the out-of-sync errors and some other stuff. I updated it immediately. And guess what? It actually worked! The game was finally playable. Smooth as butter. They also changed something about trophy loss. It’s tougher now if you’re in the bottom five, which I guess is fair.
To make up for the whole mess, they sent out this apology gift in the game. It’s pretty sweet, actually. I mean, they kind of had to, right? After all that frustration. I heard that it was Supercell’s CEO, this Ilkka guy, who pushed for this massive launch. I guess he wanted to go big. Well, they went big alright, big mess. At least they are trying to fix it now and make up for all the initial issues. To get the gift, you need to have at least 5 Common, 5 Rare, and 5 Epic characters. That’s how you unlock Squad League, I guess.
Anyway, that’s my Squad Busters saga. From a hyped-up launch to a total disaster to a somewhat redemption. It’s been a wild ride. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some squads to build and some battles to win!
