Hey everyone, so I’ve been messing around with this whole “internet karate kid” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started off by just searching around, you know, seeing what this whole Cobra Kai thing was about. I saw some stuff about a board game, a video game called “Cobra Kai 2: Dojos Rising”, and even stumbled upon some real-life karate places like Ippon Karate Dojo. I guess people are really into this stuff, huh?
I decided to jump in and see what I could learn myself. I started watching some of the “Digital Dojo Syllabus” videos from Ippon Karate Dojo. Sensei Adam was teaching all kinds of moves. I tried to follow along with the 9th Kyu Fundamentals – that’s like, beginner-level stuff. It was tough! I’m definitely not as flexible as I used to be.
Then I tried out this Mae Geri move, which is basically a front kick. Man, it looks so easy when they do it, but I nearly pulled a hamstring trying to get my leg up that high. I was stumbling around my living room, trying to look all cool and powerful, but I probably just looked like a clumsy old man.
After that, I looked into the Cobra Kai Dojo lessons from the show. You know, the ones taught by that Johnny Lawrence guy? I guess he learned some stuff from some guy named John Kreese, who’s supposed to be a big deal in the karate world. They teach some pretty rough stuff, not sure if it’s the kind of thing I’d want to learn in real life.
Anyway, I kept at it, practicing the moves, watching the videos, and even trying to understand the whole story behind Cobra Kai and The Karate Kid. It’s like this whole other world I never knew existed. The more I learned, the more I started to get into it. I even started practicing the moves in my office during my lunch break. My coworkers thought I was crazy, but I didn’t care.
So, after a few weeks of this, I felt like I was starting to get the hang of it. I wouldn’t say I’m a black belt or anything, but I definitely felt more confident in my moves. It’s been a fun little experiment, and who knows, maybe I’ll keep it up. Maybe I’ll even sign up for some real karate classes one day. It’s never too late to learn something new, right?
