Okay, so I heard about this game called FragPunk that’s doing a playtest, and I was like, “Why not give it a shot?” It’s a hero shooter, which isn’t really my usual thing, but hey, I’m always up for trying something new.
First things first, I had to figure out how to actually get into this playtest. I remembered that I participated in their alpha test before. I simply updated FragPunk on Steam. I opened Steam, found FragPunk in my library, and there was an update button. Clicked it, waited for it to do its thing, and boom, I was in.
Then I logged into the game. Started playing a few rounds, trying out different heroes and seeing what kind of powers they had. Honestly, it was a bit overwhelming at first with all the different abilities and stuff going on, but I started to get the hang of it after a while.
I played for a good few hours, trying out different game modes, messing around with the settings to see what worked best for my potato computer. The gameplay is pretty fast-paced, lots of running and gunning, which I guess is what you’d expect from a shooter like this. But there are also these cards that change the rules of the game each round, which is a cool twist, I guess.
Here’s what I did during the playtest:
- Tried out a bunch of different heroes to see which ones I liked best.
- Played a mix of game modes to get a feel for the overall gameplay.
- Figured out the controls and adjusted the settings to my liking.
- Tried to understand how the card system works and how it affects each match.
Overall, it was an interesting experience. FragPunk is definitely not the kind of game I usually play, but I can see why people are excited about it. It’s got a lot of action, and the card system adds a layer of strategy that I wasn’t expecting. Will I keep playing? Probably not. But who knows, maybe I’ll give it another go sometime down the line. I think it is worth a try.
